GUITAR LESSONS

I have been teaching guitar professionally since 2005 and I provide lessons in my home-based studio in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

I teach all genres of music for guitar, and welcome beginners, improvers and experienced players looking for new ideas.

Lessons take place on weekdays, both daytime and evening, and cost £23 for a one hour lesson, based on booking a months lessons and paying in advance at the start of the month. Occasional lessons are charged at £25 per hour.

MY BACKGROUND

"After making a stage debut at the age of 18, performing and being involved in music has always been Barrys' passion.

From the late 70s, Barry has played in all sorts of bands, mainly based in the west midlands, which featured the unusually named folk duo 'Greasy Bacon Sandwich', cabaret band 'Chico', country band 'Marshall Peavey', blues band 'Convention', and more recently 'The Raconteurs' (circa 1996 - not the current rock band of the same name), and currently comedy band 'Fat Chance'.

Barry has played live in venues of all sizes including The Cavern (Liverpool); Huntington Hall (Worcester); Ronnie Scott's (Birmingham); Tamworth Castle; Derby Assembly Rooms; Lichfield Guild and Civic halls; Tamworth Assembly Rooms; Solihull Library Theatre; and many festivals including Sidmouth; Alcester; Lichfield; Clitheroe; Bridgnorth; Cork (Ireland); Caversham; Birmingham Artsfest; Heather and Tamworth (of course!)

Barry's playing has always been about developing as many styles as possible and giving them his own slant. He likes to play heavy rock, blues, folk, country, pop, reggae, jazz, funk, punk and anything else he can turn his hand to!"
